Our Students - Ms Elliott's students

Welcome to the 2017 school year!

My name is Rowena Elliott and I am new to Kalgoorlie School of the Air this year. I have previously taught in the public and Catholic school systems. This year I will be teaching Kindergarten, Pre-Primary and Year 1. I am very excited to be teaching these grades, as this is the area I specialised in. The early years of schooling is a very important period for students to lay the foundations for learning that will be built upon as they progress into the higher grades. It is also an important time for students to develop a love of learning and I look forward to developing engaging and hands-on experiences for the early year's students.

I look forward to meeting all my students when air lessons commence in Week 2 of the term. We will have the opportunity to introduce ourselves and get to know each other a little better before we commence our regular air lessons. I will contact all families in Week 1 to introduce myself and provide an overview of the air lessons for the term.

As Term 1 progresses, this online space will be used to showcase student work samples. I would love to see this space filled with a variety of different work samples so others can see what fantastic work Kalgoorlie School of the Air students can produce. Moreover, children often take great pride in their work being displayed, which often leads to discussions about the learning that occurred while the task was completed.

I hope you have all had a fantastic break over the school holidays and are ready for the 2017 school year to begin. I can't wait to meet everyone and start our learning journey together.
